I can handle TWO - You??

Hey, Reader

There are only two kinds of events.

First, the pleasant ones.

The ones that wake up your senses.

  • Barbecues.
  • Family gatherings.
  • A reunion with old friends.
  • A good steak on the grill, for reasons that had nothing to do with you. Like the one you’re having tomorrow, if you’re American.

So to all my American readers: Happy Birthday, USA.

But,

there’s a second kind of event

The ones nobody prepares you for.

The ones that scare the sh*t out of you, whether you admit it or not.

A coming layoff. A health scare. A divorce. A diagnosis you haven’t told your family about yet. A transition you never saw coming.

Both kinds are part of a life.

They come, they take their time, they leave a mark or a bruise, and life goes on.

The only real question is how life goes on.

Dictated by others, by rules you never agreed to?

Or built by you, on your terms?

So,

there’s a third kind of event. And it’s the one I try to be for you.

The kind you know is coming and look forward to.

Like your yoga class. The massage appointment you actually want because you feel better afterwards.

The Thursday evening course you signed up for in person... That kind of event!

That’s what I try to be with my Wednesday article on Substack, and with the Saturday deep dives in your inbox.

The article is for people getting to know me. The email is for the ones who already know I read midlife through the lens of Nature’s principles and lived experience.

Starting this Saturday, tomorrow, I’m adding something new.

More personal. Deeper explanations and the reasons why we all sometimes search for the wrong fix.

But foremost - more regenerative ideas. Like Books. Tools. Skills you can learn in an afternoon. Even regenerative investments, the kind that use money the way it was meant to be used: for everyone’s benefit, not just the banks...

I’ve been collecting these for months. Time to share them.

Here’s what I noticed, trying to hold myself to a higher standard than just “helpful enough.”

I know a lot about soil biology and midlife recovery. Heart attack recovery, burnout, you name it.

I don’t know enough about you.

Your real focus points. The place you’re actually standing right now. What keeps you awake at 3 am?

So I’m asking.

Five sentences below. Pick the one, or the ones, that sound like you.

A simple click is all it takes. 2 seconds - very much appreciated!

[I built something that looks successful from the outside, but something in me still feels unused.]

[The people closest to me don’t quite recognize what’s changing in me lately.]

[I want my money to build something real, not just sit there.]

[My body has been sending signals I’ve learned to ignore.]

[I’m ready to build something new, even if it means starting smaller.]

I enjoy and appreciate our partnership more than you know!

Without a reader, the hours I spend writing would go nowhere.

Notes like the ones some of you send tell me they don’t.

Help me get better at this. Click the one sentence that’s true for you.

Or reply to this email. I read and answer personally!

I’m even considering a small gift for the ones who do.

Talk Saturday,

Daniel

Let's REGENERATE the world - starting with yours 🌱

Swiss-born, living on a homestead in Transylvania for 20 years. Gardener, permaculture designer, regenerative consultant. My own reset started with a heart attack. Eight years later, I'm in better shape than ever. Because I stopped living outside my own nature. I write for people +45 who feel the same drift. Two or three letters a week. No hype. Nature isn't the backdrop here. It's the diagnostic tool.
